Description

As you may have noticed by now this is not a normal GT2, this is one of the fully federalized and 100% legal 996 GT2 Clubsports in the US and one of only 70 around the world.

In addition to this car being one of the rarest 996's of any model available in the US, this car also has possibly the greatest documentation I have seen from any previous owners.

Documentation on the car includes the late owner's first emails to his broker searching for this specific spec of vehicle, him narrowing down his options to the one you are looking at today, all the way through every single service done to the car with what parts, all torque specs and every degree of camber, toe, and caster changed on the car as he used it to take his PCA driving students on educational runs. In total it is over 150 pages of documented records on the car including the bill of sale from Canepa for the importation of the vehicle.

The car also comes with every Porsche Service workbook that technicians would have had on the car as well for the 996 Turbo/GT2 platform totaling to around 9 binders of information.

As far as paint is concerned, the paint is perfect, there are no panels with mismatching colors anywhere and all paint meter readings are available for you to see as well. The passenger door did receive a paint match to it due to the original owner scratching it with his bicycle in his garage.

The car was taken care of to the same degree as actual track cars need to be taken care of with more than just fluid changes throughout its life, it would have alignment checked frequently, it has an upgraded and completely rebuilt LSD (original ones from Porsche are known to not hold up), and has upgraded front discs.

The owner had this car as his show car on the track only driving it for ride-alongs when the track was empty between sessions of PCA track days where he was an instructor. He was such an enthusiast that he kept the car up to FIA standards.

When Porsche launched this car it was meant to be part of the showroom class in FIA racing and within the FIA handbook, regulations allowed for teams to run brakes that were up to 10% bigger in diameter. This is what made the owner upgrade the front discs to custom two piece floating rotors from Wrightwood racing.

With original take offs of the water pump, spark plugs and motor mounts as well, this car has a bin of miscellaneous OEM parts as well that accompanies it.
