Description

This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is one of 2,048 produced for the model year and was sold new at Burns Ford in Louisville, Kentucky. Finished in Wimbledon White with blue stripes, the car features a black knit interior and is powered by a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. A rotisserie restoration was performed between 2010 and 2013 at Country Corvette of West Chester, Pennsylvania, including rust repair, a repaint, refurbishing the interior, and rebuilding the powertrain. Following the restoration, the car was shipped to the Dominican Republic, where it resided in the previous owner's private collection and was driven approximately 500 miles. It was brought back to the US in 2018, at which point a full fluid change and carburetor rebuild were performed. This GT500 is now being offered by the selling dealer with a Deluxe Marti Report, SAAC certificate, a history file, and a clear Florida title.

Of the 2,048 GT500s produced in 1967, 526 were delivered from the factory in Wimbledon White according to the Marti report. Inboard fog lights were an early production feature, and closeups of the paintwork, trim, and glass are provided.

A set of 10-spoke aluminum wheels come fitted and wear Michelin Harmony tires. Factory equipment includes power front disc brakes, rear drums, and power steering.

The interior features knit vinyl upholstery and matching black carpets. Factory options include a folding Sport Deck rear seat, roll-bar mounted harnesses, courtesy light group, and interior decor package. Factory-style air conditioning was added during the restoration.

All Shelby cars were delivered with an 8,000-rpm tachometer and 140-mph speedometer, as well as additional Stewart Warner oil pressure and amperage gauges mounted in a pod below the dash. Additional equipment consists of power steering and an AM radio, along with a tachometer and trip odometer. The 5-digit odometer was reset during the restoration and is said to show approximately 500 miles.

The 428ci Police Interceptor V8 has been rebuilt and is paired with a 4-speed top-loader transmission.

Photos taken throughout the restoration at County Corvette can be viewed here and depict disassembly, rust repair, the repaint, new upholstery, and rebuilding of the powertrain.

The Deluxe Marti Report breaks down the production details and lists the original equipment and colors. Documentation dating back to the 1960s accompanies the sale. A certificate from SAAC is attached in the gallery.
