The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS is a true icon of Italian engineering, named after Ferrari's son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari. Introduced in 1971, the Ferrari Dino 246 GTS set a new benchmark in sports car design. Its low-slung, curvaceous body was designed by the legendary Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina, creating an unforgettable silhouette that still turns heads today. The GTS model features a distinctive targa roof, offering a unique open-air experience with the security and strength of a coupe. Powered by a 2.4L Tipo 135CS V6 paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Ordered new in Marrone Metallizatto (106-M-73) over Biege leather and was produced on April 19th, 1973. This U.S. market example is just 1 of 215 vehicles that left the factory in this shade. Delivered from the factory to U.S. based importer Chinetti Garthwaite Import Inc on behalf of the original owner Don Fong's Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Supported by a well-documented provenance of its previous caretakers dating back to 1974.
Presented here today displaying just 52,500 original miles. This E Series Dino was awarded Best in Show and a Platinum award at the Limerock FCA meet in 2000. Still retaining its original numbers matching drivetrain and specified with Daytona Seats, Power Windows and Air Conditioning.
Recently benefiting from recent services in 2024 at an excess of $45,0000 which included: full windows out repaint, radiator underbody repair, new rubber for removable top, dash reupholster with correct mouse hair material, oil pressure sender replaced, exhaust hanger replaced, aluminum back plate level holder replaced, new battery installed, radiator reinstalled, carburetors adjusted, thermostat replaced and a complete vehicle wet sand and polish.
