1972 BMW 2002 TOURING
What you are looking at here is one of the cleanest 2002 examples on the market.
Not only is it a round tail light 2002, but it is also a 2002 Touring model.
Only sold in Europe, this example was imported to South America and subsequently underwent a full restoration of the body and all mechanical components.
It resided in Colombia and is extremely well documented with all invoices on services, restoration work, and inspection reports available. This specific vehicle was one of the poster vehicles of the BMW Classic car club of Colombia and the Colombian Classic Automobile club as well.
To put things in perspective, in Colombia "historic" and classic vehicles go under very rigorous inspections to assure originality. If the cars are under a certain percentage of originality they will not qualify for historic tags or registrations. To finalize the process, the vehicles are legally approved by an actual judge to be classified as a classic/historic vehicle. Once approved they wear different license plates and receive special registrations and classifications.
Having been featured in posters, multiple shows, and the official LiquiMoly calendar, it was one of the best known examples and has excellent provenance throughout its life.
The original interior shows very minimal wear and is in fantastic shape for a car of this caliber. The car has been completely gone through mechanically and went through a thorough service of oil, oil filter, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, intake gasket, and carburetor tuning.
The engine is stout and healthy with no leaks and the transmission shifts smoothly into each gear.
The car is being sold with two sets of keys, over 30 pages of service documentation throughout its life, all legal importation documents, historic certifications, subsequent inspections, posters, and the LiquiMoly calendar it was featured in.
